digilog5 here. I've been looking at this forum for a couple of years and got the chance to register.

I have two sets of MLs, one at my parents' house and one in my place.
The first is based on SL3's (circa 1999) and the other is based on the Sources.

I hope to upgrade my second system soon. Thinking of ML Ethos or MG 1.7s.

Ethos need less power than the MG 1.7. Both sound nice.

Very true. Will see...
Of course i absolutely love the ML sound and being used to the SL3 and the little Sources makes it tough...
However I've heard the MG1.7s in many occasions and they also seem to do the trick fairly well and present a really impressive wall of sound with no sub.
Actually some years ago when the MG3.5 was still in production we were split 50/50 with my father between that and the SL3 and ended up with the ML.
Knock on wood the ML has been bulletproof aside from the slipping stator (fixed easily though).
Another candidate I've been contemplating is the Gallo Strada2 with a sub. I did hear the Gallo 3.5 though and seemed very nice but a bit too open for my taste.
But had a very large and nice sweet spot.

Maggie 1.7's when combined with a properly integrated sub make what I consider to be 'the' bang for the buck in all of 'audiodom'...........
