Team,

I am buying a new Martin Logan home theater system for my first home theater! I am excited and cannot wait until the new construction is done.

To save some money, I have decided to wire the speakers myself. The configuration is 7.2. In researching wiring, I have not found any great articles on what needs to be done. That is a problem as I do not have a clue! Can anyone recommend a simple step by step article or book that can walk me through the process?

Many thanks,

HT4ME

Congrats, looks like it will a neat setup.

Speaker wire is simple, just get get a good quality basic cable, appropriate to the install environment. In your case, it looks like you'll have runs in the walls an ceilings, so you need a cable rated for that.

I highly recommend, and personally use hundreds of feet of the stuff, the BlueJeans cable sold Belden 5000 cable. Easy to install, in-wall rated, and of sufficient gauge for overpowered setups like mine ;-)
