Kinda why I was looking at the DacMagic plus. It will play USB 24/192 if you download their USb 2.0 driver made for it.

The incredible EDO (Enhanced Digital Output) free add-on for the Squeezebox Touch now allows full 24/176 and 24/192 playback via either SPDIF or USB. I just installed it, and am currently listening to a high-res MA Records sampler. This app elevates the SB Touch to the stratosphere! Link... http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...-Digital-Ouput

I believe it will play 192k files though by downsampling to 96k (dropping every second sample). You'd have to check up on that though.

Great to know. Thanks for that, although at present I don't even have any 24/192 files!

Thanks for posting the info. I have a few 24/192 files. I have listened to them letting the Touch down convert them at 24/96. They never quite sounded as good as they do when I burned them on DVD-Audio an played they native. I will download it.

    Thanks again.

Update, the EDO add-on works great. I am using over coax. The switch between high-res 24/96-24/192 is seemless. If you have a Touch and high-res music this is a upgrade you should get. The best part is its free.

Unfortunately (as rumored for the past year) Logitech pulled the plug on the Squeezebox line yesterday, replacing it with a "dumbed down" consumer device offering streaming internet radio only, and no digital outputs. It looks like further Squeezebox Server development will come to a screeching halt, but there is a rumor they will still release a Windows 8 compatible version to support the legacy system for another year or two. I snapped up another Squeezebox Touch from Amazon yesterday, as a backup. I plan on using my five Squeezeboxes until something comparable or better comes along, but fear that will never be the case, and certainly not at the incredible price-point and performance level these amazing devices have delivered.

I just bought another touch as a backup. Hopefully I will have them for a number of years until the next best cost effective approach to LAN distributed hi quality sound comes around. Linn is just to expensive.
