I always finding it interesting on hobbiest sites to hear what other people's different hobbies are. It is fun to find others with common interests - or maybe another new hobby to pick up. haha

For me.... I have too many hobbies for sure. haha

My car... ~700hp z06:

My Jeep... long arm, 4-linked, locked, stretched, armored, fuel cell.... all the good stuff:

And we do a little bit of art collecting. Our most recent addition is this original Gockel oil painting:

Hmm. I drive a Porsche and ride a BMW, so I like driving sport cars and motorcycling. As a matter of fact, I've been doing both for over forty years! Of course, there are so many other activities (hobbies?), like going out to listen to live music, traveling, etc. But my main hobby is enjoying the lives of my two granddaughters.

Which porsche do you have?

im a live music archivist. i run a 4 channel audio recording rig plus i shoot photography if allowed by the band. i prefer to record 2 channels of soundboard with 2 channels of ambient mics for mixing in the post, but if the band sells their soundboards or simply doesnt allow soundboard access i also run a mix of 2 opposing stereo mic configurations that i can manipulate and mix in post as well. ive been actively taping for a decade now and my only regret is the decade of concerts i missed prior to that...

my audio rigs: (Open taping)
Small Diaphragm: Busman Audio BSC1-K1/K2/K3/K4 > Grace Lunatec V3 (Phatman Silver Custom Cables & Interconnects) > Busman Hybrid R4
Large Diaphragm: ADK A-51TL MP (Hi Ho Silver Cables) > Busman Hybrid R4

(or my stealth rig, otherwise known as hat rig)
Church Audio STC-11> CA STC 9000> Sony PCM-M1

and my meager photo rig:
Canon Rebel XT, Canon 50mm f/1.8 II, Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8

here are some of my recordings, but not all bands are listed on LMA so this of course is only a fraction on my recording archive:

and these are the photos ive taken in the last few yrs:

snowmobiling, motorcycling, railroading and collecting porn.........well three of them anyways !

I am a car guy :) Currently redoing my Twin Turbo Fairlady Z (300ZX) for the 3rd time.

Here is the heart of the beast, a Twin Turbo 3.0L V6. Should be pushing ~800hp!

Nice pictures Jim. I have a Rebel as well.

Wasn't there another thread on the same topic ? It was worth it, though, to get Dave to reveal his true passion (nothing to do with outdoorsy stuff) :)

Not much time for hobbies these days. But enjoy cars when I have the time. Fortunately, I get to spend most of my time with three of the four things I was always interested in for work, Cameras, computers and music.

Thanks for starting this thread

There are other hobbies? You just blew my mind!

Dominick

Besides audiophilia (System #308), I consider the following to be my main hobbies:
1. Collecting records (~10,000 lps) and CDs(~3000). Mostly classical and of that most are opera recordings.
2. Running. Completed 17 marathons and an uncounted number of half-marathons. Most memorable, Boston 2001. Least memorable, Marine Corps, 1997.
3. Writing. Catalog of several hundred poems and short stories.
4.Arts management. Ran a local opera company (unpaid) for 3 years. Still involved.
5.Ball room dancing with my wife.

Cool, we've got a few fast 300zx's around here. What turbo(s) are you going to run?

So it is collecting porn, porn, and more porn?

:)

Well in the spring/summer, it's mostly sports related activities:

Flag football
Kickball (yes, there's an adult kickball league)
Golf!!!! -- also have a work league and tournaments
Weight lifting (love crossfit!)
Softball (work league)

I also love to play chess. When I was in high school, I competed in scholastic tournaments and after a 10 year hiatus, I have picked this up again.

As a 'psedo hobby' I'd like to count personal finance/retirement planning. I give seminars at work on this area.

Lets see....

Slowgeezer owns a silver Cayman to answer one question I saw here.

Jimna your skills are FAR BEYOND MINE, but I also like photography. Have shot and sold a calendar...combined two of my other fav things...hot car and hot women! The cars shown are mine, the women are not...DANG IT! Wife does not like to share that much! LOL!

I also like Whippets (and other dogs too, but REALLY like Whippets)...these are our current two.

I also play guitar. I play lead in our band at church. We have been together for over 10 years now pretty much unchanged. Just a few new faces now and then. Drummer and bass player most recently. Hope we stay like this for a long time as we have a REALLY NICE GROOVE right now. These guitars are my go to guitars and were all custom made for me to my specifications.

I also like exotic weapons...

Enjoy!

Here are some more pics...more to follow too I am sure...

The car shot is MOST of the collection... Two are missing my '82 blue 928 with 3660 miles on it (same color as my race car) and my new Guards Red '85 EURO S... The guitar on the left has over 250 hand inlaid pieces in the neck the yellow one on the right has about 125 hand inlaid pieces...they are know as The Last Supper and Ascension respectively. The dark one in the previous post is Crucifixion. These are all S/N #2's and are a set so to speak...

The firearm is a 9mm MP5SD...SUPER COOL!

Here are my babies... These two are pretty new to us. We have had them about a year. The white and tan is Flash, he is a 3 or 4 year old rescue. Really good boy! The fawn female is Megan, she is 15 months old and nothing but trouble! ;)
