Burning hot...Burning down...

Many ML models have a pretty "ugly" dip when the speaker reaches 20khz. Does there exist stories that the users in here have heard of, that amplifiers has had a "meltdown" ? Are the special brands of amplifiers that has a bad rep with low ohm and ML ? Other way around, what brands excels, thiking especally about valve amps...

Unless it's audible 'distortion' there is little if any musical content up there anyways...........at least any that us 'ole farts worry about. Trust me....don't loose sleep over it !

Good to know...But I actually heard about amps "going down" with the use of the old CLS,,,

There are many threads / posts on this forum regarding high current amps, tube amps that do well, and related amp issues associated with driving ML's.

Use the "search" function and you'll find a lot of info regarding this topic.

The impedance dip at 20kHz is not an issue. Any dips in the FR where music actually occurs might be a different story. The CLS is a 2.5 ohm load at a more important frequency of 10 kHz. check out the article at the link below.
