Hi, I'm new in this forum and I want to make a question to the ML Aerius i owners.
I have for eight years two Aerius i in my house.
I yesterday realized that the front metallic housing is lowering so that almost it touches the ground, apparently because is being taken off.
It would want to now if to somebody something similar has passed him and what solution has found.
Also advice would ask to you on if the repair in the technical service is worth the trouble.

I request excuses if my English is not very good, but my language is the Spanish. (I,m from Barcelona, Spain).

Hi, and welcome to our site.

The problem you describe is common to some of the older models with a metal grille over the woofer.

This is not a big issue, and is one you can fix your self.

Disconnect the speaker from the power and the amp, then place it on its back (panel facing up).

First, see if you can slide the panel up with some moderate force. If that does not work, then you will need to remove the wood rails, reposition the panels and re-attach the rails.

The big variable is: has the Electrostatic panel also slid down, or is it just the woofer cover?

If it's just the woofer cover, forcing it back up with rails on is probably the easiest. If both the Electrostatic panel and the woofer cover have slid down, then you need to remove the rails.

Si puede ser en español, me encuentro mucho más a gusto. He tenido que recurrir al traductor de mi mac para obtener el pobre resultado que da inicio a este hilo.
Sí, está bajando toda la parrilla metálica, tanto la del panel electrostático como la que protege al subwofer. Además en las dos cajas aunque de forma más acusada en el derecho.
He intentado subirla a la fuerza y lo único que he conseguido ha sido sacar unos milímetros de sitio la parte en que encajan las dos parrillas, la electrostática y la de protección del altavoz de bajos.
Lo que no me aclaro mirando la caja es cómo se remueven los raíles.
¿Se despegan la parte de madera de la posterior oscura?
¿Hay alguna mecanismo de seguridad que debo remover?
¿Quizás abriendo la parte inferior de la caja?
Perdona pero no me aclaro.
Querría empezar por esto, después ya vendría la forma en que lo vuelvo a ajustar. ¿Está pegado con cola y hay que volver a encolarlo?

Me dejas más tranquilo diciendo que es algo sin demasiada importancia :ROFL:.
A ver si consigo arreglarlo yo sólo ya que soy un manazas.

Si, se despegan corriéndolas hacia abajo. Utilizando un martillo de cuero o de hule, golpeas los raíles desde arriba (hacia el woofer) hasta que se mueven unos centímetros, después de esa distancia, se remueven levantándolos.
Los paneles están pegados con velero, y hay que levantarlos con un poco de fuerza.

¿Hay alguna mecanismo de seguridad que debo remover?

No, los raíles están enganchados con un mecanismo de presión ilustrado aquí:

No, es totalmente a presión, y hay que mover los raíles.

Perdona pero no me aclaro.

Fantástico. Ya he conseguido subir los paneles de mis dos Martinas.
No sabes cuánto te lo agradezco :bowdown:, estaba desesperado. Estas cajas me costaron 3600 eur hace 8 años e incluso estaba pensando en jubilarlas.
No sabía si era una defecto de fábrica o que se estaban cayendo de viejas.
Ufffffffff.

Heh, you meant: 'tri-linguini' :D

I do speak geek pretty fluently, and I've forgotten the better part of a dozen computer languages. :p

Hola Alfonso, los paneles se recomiendan cambiar a los 15 o más años. Pero depende mucho de como han sido tratados. Si fueran expuestas a mucho sol, humo o polvo, tal vez no duran más de diez anos.

Tengo un par de Sequel II que compre nuevos en 1993, y todavía tienen paneles originales.
