Being a McIntosh guy this would be my choice.
I agree, listening late at night with the light out and staring into those big blue McIntosh eyes. Simply bliss!
Here are some that haven't been mentioned yet that I think are quite good.
Santana -- Hymns for Peace Live at Montreux
ZZ Top LIve from Texas
Moody Blues -- Lovely to See You
Yes Live at...
My pleasure Tom!
I certainly think so and Martin Logan does a lot of demo's using McIntosh gear. However, the only way you'll know for sure is to listen for yourself.
Congrat's on the new amp. It's one of McIntosh's most popular amps for a good reason. :rocker:
[QUOTE=Wildblue;98146]Very interesting about the center channel. If I went with a ML Stage, then, you're thinking it's best to actually put it on the wall, not co-planar with ML L and R mains?...
You can always switch to XRCD. IMHO, sounds better than SACD and plays in "all" players; however, it costs more and there are fewer titles unless you are really fond of Japanese music.
If possible I'd keep the center channel speaker along the same plane as the CLXs. Currently, my center is bolted to the wall so it's close to four feet from my Ascent's. As a result, the power needed...
If I were to find an acceptable screen I'd certainly be willing to use 3 CLXs; however, I would prefer that ML develop one so that us consumers would have placement/screen options. :D
I would like to see a "matched" center capable of filling a large space. The CLX wants a large space and I would like to see a center channel that is of the same caliber as the CLX with the same...
Rich: I agree with you. I think the Kindle use the correct technology for the right reason -- reading! I've read the Kindle for several hours non-stop with no more fatigue than reading a traditional...
I agree I don't think I would go to a typical point source speaker either. For now I'm a pretty happy camper and moving in a different direction just doesn't make sense. Now if ML would just make a...
That's an interesting question. Lets see if I can answer it without getting banned for life. :D To start and, lessen my chances of banishment, I think that the current used market for Summits puts...
Sorry, I missed the $5K limit. It will absolutely be greater than $5K -- probably closer to $10K.
Another fine amp to consider is the McIntosh MC303. Here is a brief write up from Mc:
At 300 watts per channel the new McIntosh MC303 Three Channel Power Amplifier with Autoformers delivers its...
I should have my kindle either monday or tuesday and would be happy to beta test.
They may be able get it from your site; however, what's compelling to me is that sitting on a commuter train for a little over a buck I could download it directly and enjoy it right then. To me...
It looks like other mags range from $1.25 to 3.50. with most between 1.49 and 2.50. I'd pony up $1.50 for when I want it portable. I don't think that's an unreasonable price.
Will Tone be able to be downloaded to the Kindle? That would be very cool and a great way to read the mag.
I have a kindle 2 on order and have used the original kindle. I think it's a pretty cool device. Very easy to read, works well in direct sun, and is light weight. I'm looking forward to getting it.
Hi Rick,
I’m so glad you were able to attend. It’s easy to host when you have a great bunch of like-minded folks. Aren’t those 501s amazing? When I was using my MC207 for the mains the bass...
I think this is close to a no brainer. You're standing on thin ice now, you've been presented an excellent opportunity, and you’re close to having your children in college, so that relocating in the...
Hi Tom,
Thanks, it was my pleasure.
Good luck on the surrounds... what are friends for.
Maybe tomorrow I can change you opinion some.
