Given ML's dipole radiation pattern, side wall treatments are probably less critical than with box speakers. However, as you mentioned, this could be very room dependant, so the only way to find out...

I am using the Summit X legs/spike assembly on my Summits. Expensive, but works great!
I would also rule out a problem with your upstream gear by feeding the right speaker cable to the left speaker, and vice versa. If the imaging shifts LEFT, then you have an upstream problem.
I have a similar room conundrum (sliding glass door on one side, open arch/hallway on opposite, and large screen TV and console cabinet in middle). I pretty much solved this challenge by adding...
Welcome! Nice to hear that ML's service/support is continuing the legacy of excellence set by Jim Powers!
BTW, duslow, you might want to check out our local Suncoast Audiophile Society (see my...
In double-blind listening sessions, I found that straight spades presented a MUCH smoother midrange and overall flatter frequency response vs. 45 degree spades.
It definitely CAN make a difference, but the magnitude will vary depending on absorption/diffusion characteristics of material behind each speaker, plus overall symmetry of room.
You can see how...
Interesting! However, given it's extremely low mass, I would think a Summit or CLX-sized panel would need many more "spars" to keep it from hitting the stators (unless air itself is a sufficient...
An audiophile tells his wife that if he dies before she does, she should immediately sell all his audio gear.
"Why" she asks?
He tells her that having devoting his heart and soul for so...
The Squeezebox DAC's are "OK" (Transporter and Touch better than the others), but feeding digital out from them to an outboard DAC is really best for serious listening. I have seven Squeezebox...
Joey, FWIW, I'm thrilled with the acoustic improvements derived from having just replaced carpet with wood floors (plus area rug) in my listening/family room. I always thought the plush carpet and...
Actually, surprisingly good! More energy and a smoother XTZ measured high frequency response than before! Temporarily adding an 8' x 10' rug, as expected, further smoothed out the upper midrange...
Well, it's been a year, but we finally got the wood flooring in! We ended up going with (U.S. manufactured) Anderson's engineered Dellamano Maple Amaretto, glued on slab. It's hand-scraped and...
What's your impression of the Ref Link vs. your old USB/SPDIF converter?
One additional point to consider is the newer ML designs use "Micro-Perf" stators, which purportedly increase their actual radiating surface area. I never had a chance to hear old vs. new ML designs...
If BOTH power supplies went out, it must have been either a power surge, or something funky with your amp(s). I'd be concerned about something like that happening again.
Although Logitech "pulled the plug" on the Squeezebox line of streamers, there are still a few of the originalSqueezebox Radios available on Amazon......
Welcome back, Joey! I can't give you much construction advice, but don't forget to start off by reflecting back on what you USED to have......
I'm holding out for that same DSP technology to be incorporated into a Summit X replacement! :D
Have you queried EEG or Neuroscience discussion forums/mailing lists? Certainly others performing such delicate EEG studies (for research or peri-implant care) face the same issues.
Another...
Are you intentionally playing background music while testing patients? Wouldn't that stimulus alone potentially impact the recording? As for your current cone drivers causing interference, couldn't...
I'll definitely re-measure at 12 PPO, and aim for ~90+ dB next time! The NHT Sub Two is a vintage model circa late '90's, and only goes down to 21 Hz. However it was highly regarded in its day,...
I was using the NHT only for 5.1 home theater. I'm contemplating getting one (? two) of the forthcoming ML Balanced Force subs, but based on my XTZ measured bass performance, don't know if it will...
Ken,
I actually just loaned my XTZ Analyzer out to an audiophile friend for a couple months, as I'm dismantling my system. It'll be ~3 months before I'm up and running again. We d/l the latest...
I've been meaning to post results after measuring my Summits (and room) with the XTZ Room Analyzer (version 1). I'm about to tear down my setup, as we're installing wood floors in the...
