hi,
if i could fit the screen i want on the wall behind my speakers i'l agree with you about 12' being a great width. but the edges of the speaker will be in the way for any sitting position but the center.
and the darn dog seems to grab that spot first.
and i keep thinking that 13' wide would be so much better. grass. fence. green. you do the math :)
yeah, the term "pissant" was inflamatory, but not intended to be that. i assumed that you had insufficient amplification and to be honest, saw yet another pair of CLS linked to a sub when i still think that the CLS are a great speaker without a sub. "lost another" is the thought that comes to mind.
now i don't regularily play at 110. i usually play at much less, but when i pink noise balance the SPL meter reads about 72 or so. dog doesn't care about the level, but does tend to give me a "aren't you done yet?" look if i take too long.
is the amplification adequate? i'd sure hope so. if it doesn't get cranky at loud volumes (anyone for Carmina Burana - i have at least 6 interpretations :) and you are happy, then that's all that matters. i still don't understand how it doesn't fill the room, but it's your room and your preferences and you might well think that my CLS's sound all wrong the way i have them positioned.
or you might not.
balancing the room is hard. i was quick on the solution trigger and probably should not have been.
