In what is to me is one of the best albums of the year, Allen Toussaint's The Bright Mississippi is a moving tribute to the city of New Orleans.

As I wrote on AA "I've never been to New Orleans but the sounds coming off this album make me feel like I'm there. This is one excellent recording, pressing and most importantly musically satisfying records in a long time. Two nice thick, flat pressings, CD included and great music played by great musicians. Buy it if you can."

It's so good that MNF had to wait until it was over and that is a rare thing in my football lovin' world.

You really should schedule a trip to New Orleans. I have fond memories of walking along the steet and stopping at an outdoor cafe where they had a live jazz band. They played requests and they played for donations. And they were good. Same for a jazz band in a hotel on Bourbon Street. Had a lot of nice meals there too!
