Um, it kind of explains that in the product description.

Have never heard audio tubes described that way, as most people using them in an audio amp, won't be driving them to distortion....

Might be worth blasting an email to the people at Gold Lion to see how that will affect the tubes performance when not being driven to distortion.

FYI --- called New Sensor and they said that for high-end audio applications you want the soft tubes. His explanation was that they rated them lo, med, hi and that this referred to the plate voltage rating ... hi(soft) having high headroom:

soft-rated tubes that break up slow and have the highest amount of headroom

So there it is!!!
