To kick the ball rolling...

A small part of my tube collection that went for sale on ebay when I sold my Air Tight - and the amp those tubes were rolled in.

Best 12BH7A? RCA. The really old long black plates seemed to have a very slight edge over mid 70s Mexican types. Both are excellent, though.

Best ECC83 - the Telefunken ECC803s - which I owned, and sold for $$$, because the orignal Tesla Vrsovice (NOT JJ) ECC803s is every bit as good.

Best ECC82 - Mil spec Mullard shown last - CV4024 made around 1984 - one of the last - and way better than the really early ones, IMHO. Doesn;t look that great but put one in your hands and the quality is obvious. Really nice thick glass, too. I have never bettered that for an ECC82 - RCAs are very good, though.

The Air Tight is loaded with Tung-Sol 6550s with 3 Tesla Vrsovice KT88s in the background. They'd be in it - but one blew

Gold Aero Platinum Grade Gold Pin 7308. I bought 3 in San Diego at $35 each, many years ago. What was I thinking ? Should have bought 4 (2 spare) for my SP9.

Best 5AR4/GZ34: Phillips metal-base. This one's in my Modwright LS36.5 and its cousin in my Denon/Modwright 3910.



Best 5687: Bendix 6900 (these branded Tung-sol). Also in the 3910.
