Can anyone tell me the burn-in time after re-tubing Cary SLP-05 Pre-amp? I just replaced the 6SN7 with Electro Harmonix Gold Plated 6SN7-EH after experiencing static sound from one of the channels. My Six Pac Amp is on the way. Hope I can find a nice change with Plinius SA-102 with my type of music (Jazz).

346 hrs, 12 min, 14 sec....................OK, I confess I'm writing this only for Bernard !

Realistic numbers are on the order of less than twenty hrs.

Joey may be able to give you his impression since he owns the same pre

I have the same pre. I think it takes about 50hrs for the main tubes and about 100hrs for the rectifier.

Not sure if there's a point where "boom" it gets better, but a few listening sessions (long ones) and the thing just either sweetens up or I just get so used the beautiful sound.

Either way, you are in for a TREAT!
