I have been researching every possible tube amplifier to pair with ML's Summit speakers. Inspired by Viking's thread, "Tubed Amps for Summit!", I've wanted to share some of the most excellent tubed amplifiers I've been looking at, this past year... ;) If their are any other tube amplifiers I should check into please feel free to let me know... :)

The self biasing - McIntosh MC275 Mark VI (Newest Version).

Great stuff Robin!
I considered the MC-275, but I settled on the Harman / Kardon Citation II instead. IMO the Citation is sweeter and more open sounding, and it's a straightforward amp to rebuild. Jim Mcshane has a Website that shows how to rebuild and upgrade them. I know it's a vintage amp, but it's well worth a visit. I rebuilt mine a few years ago, and after the new components burned in, it's been heaven! :) Unfortunately the Infinity electrostats I have aren't a good match for this amp. Too sensitive. That's the second biggest reason I'm getting the Sequels. I've played Sequels, Aerius, and SL3s with it and the bigger MLs are happiest with that amp.
Keep an eye open for a thread I started in the DIY forum. I've begun a new amp project, and it should be interesting! :D

David,

Well..., whenever I find a wonderful piece of gear, I've fallen in love with I just save the photo, to drool over later. :p It really is "audio pornography" of the sickest / sleaziest order... :) I'm audiophile twisted and corrupted to the core. I'll freely admit, I am a torchered audiophile mind, but I couldn't use that as the title of this thread, as I've already used it before... :D
